Naming of Baby Veggies

Penelo Pea Pod, left, was married to PeTA's Chris P. Carrot, right, at the first Veggie Pride Parade, NYC, which took place on May 18, 2008. But nearly a year has gone by, and, ahem, the two have been busy.

Baby veggies have been the result. And at this, the 2009 post-parade rally and expo, those baby veggies will be "named," ceremoniously.

Penelo Pea Pod has been in the VivaVegie* family for nearly 10 years, thanks to a donation by Broadway-show costume maker Janet Bloor.

Penelo Pea Pod has aided VivaVegie outreach effectiveness many fold throughout these many years. Many VivaVegie activists have donned her body stocking, belly "peas," shoe baubles, magnificent encasing pod, and globular headdress simply countless times.

In the end, Penelo Pea Pod has never failed to draw a street crowd, giving veg'n outreach artists the perfect in to get copies of 101 Reasons Why I'm a Vegetarian into the hands of the never-absent pedestrian clusters.
