Eleven updated editions and reprints of the pamphlet version were printed between 1996 and 2011, which amounted to over 200,000 copies—all distributed. A long-length book version of 101 Reasons Why I'm a Vegetarian was published in 2005 by Lantern Books. Click for free transcripts for all.

The VivaVine
THE VEGETARIAN ISSUES MAGAZINE
Forty-nine fact-heavy editions of incisive vegan-centric journalism published between 1992 and 2002. The magazine marks an extraordinary moment in time in vegan history in the city of New York. Click for text and pdf downloads for all of them.
Street Theater/Outreach
Beginning in 1990—and continuing for roughly 15 years—VivaVegie founder Pamela Rice and volunteers regularly engaged in friendly and colorful street advocacy for veganism. First, they would creatively dress up and pen catchy signage. Then, they would use Pamela's pamphlet—"101 Reasons Why I'm a Vegetarian"—to great effect convincing passersby to consider the vegan/vegetarian lifestyle. Click for images and other memorabilia.
OF NEW YORK CITY
The Veggie Center
The Veggie Center of New York City opened in 1999 and stayed in operation until 2016. It provided (a) an event and meeting place, (b) a staging area for outreach, and (c) an archival depot for research. Click for event images, vintage memorabilia, flyers, and posters.
Message from founder Pamela Rice
There's been a lot of water under the bridge since 1991 when VivaVegie Society was founded. So many projects, so many campaigns. Unfortunately, the Web site in recent years was neglected. But, with a little help, the current redesign of VivaVegie.org will soon rise to greatness again. Explore the new—albeit not quite finished—site, and stay tuned for a plethora of even more posts from the old days: images, videos, writings, etc., as well as contemporary commentary on current events, hard-news vegan style.
