This was the very first VivaVegie Society event coordinated by Pamela Rice. We had music, speakers, vegan food, and sanctuary. Of course, there was plenty of pro-vegan literature, including (at that time) the first edition of "101 Reasons Why I'm a Vegetarian." The event got a front-page article in an East Village newspaper.
